Black people has a long history to be victimized of police misconduct and brutality. According to the NewYork Times “In 2015 over 100 unarmed Black people were killed by cops, where no officers were convicted. All these tragedies came so fast we barely had time to grieve.
Castile was licensed to carry gun, and the lawyer mentioned: “there was a huge possibility as Mr. Castile could have fired his gun.”
It was mentioned that victim’s use of drugs is the reason why Castile did not respond. In the documents, it was said results of the autopsy showed increased THC levels in Castile’s blood.
He kept his hand in his pocket where the gun was. The attorney said it means this incident violated Castile’s gun-safety training.
Four months later, Castile’s family asked the Department of Justice begins a federal investigation of this case. Castile family attorney Glenda Hatchett showed documents of having the license.
This kind of incident is really pathetic and indicates how the power is misused every time.
