WhatsApp users, beware, a new scam spreads malware through a fake voice calling text invite. If you have received the message, just ignore it.
The scam message:
“Hey, I am inviting you to try WhatsApp calling, click here to activate now”.
The scam messages that invites WhatsApp users to try voice calling feature redirects the victims to an online survey. Then the victims are asked to download third party applications that contains malicious codes.Since it also prompts users to invite friends before testing the feature, the scam spreads quickly through the WhatsApp accounts.WhatsApp is yet to announce the voice calling feature in public. So users are advised to be careful with the scam messages inviting to try new features.
