The 9th overall selection in the 2011 MLB Draft, has hit three home runs in only his second major league game. Javier Baez hit his first major league home run in his debut last night. Just awhile ago he has hit his 2nd and 3rd career home runs in just a matter of 48 hour time span.

The Cubs’ 21-year old phenom is tearing the ball of its cover for the most part. The intriguing thing about this young super prospect is his uncanny knack to hit the ball the other way. Not just the other way, but hitting the ball the other way with authority. It’s very rare to see a young player this mature in his mental process in being so keyed on hitting the ball the opposite field. Take a look at history in the making and watch these two blasts.
For Baez that would be three home runs in only four hits over his brief three game MLB career. The Chicago Cubs organization have been biting on their finger nails for the past few years, waiting for this moment of clarity so they can bring up this future megastar to the big leagues. Now the time is here. He could be the next Sammy Sosa in the making.
