When they realized that the dogs would be homeless, the workers on the site contacted Mary Choi of the Mary’s Doggies. This rescue center has between 50 and 100 dogs. The shelter is always full but Mary knew she had to do something about the dog family.

The workers were either going to chase away the family or call in the kill shelter. Mary would hear none of this. She would never let a dog family suffer like this. So she went to the site.

The initial plan was to get the puppies to the rescue center, but when she saw the bond, she couldn’t allow their separation.

“The mother dog, Regal, looked after her 6 puppies, and the father, Royal, stuck by the mother no matter what. The two adults were so sweet and caring for their puppies. They were inseparable,” says Mary.

Mary did her best to keep the puppies but deep down in her heart, she knew that the puppies would have to be adopted individually.
