Che Guevara : The Marxist Revolutionary

” Many will call me an adventurer – and that I am, only one of a different sort: one of those who risks his skin to prove his platitudes.”

Che Guevara : The Marxist Revolutionary

These are the words of Ernesto ( Che ) Guevara . who was born in Rossario in Argentine in 1928. Che Guevara, the Marxist revolutionary was a doctor in medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. Che Guevara was a born activist who always used to possess an in built instinct to raise his voice against the status quo. In his early career in Guete Mala in 1954 , Che Guevara observed an American back military group who threw back the socialist government of President Jaccob Arbens. Che Guevara became so dishearten by this and then he decided to join the Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro in Mexico. At that time Cuba was governed by a dictator General Fulgenio Batista. Che Guevara who was already inspired by reading the works of Marx , Engels , Mao Tse-tung and others converted Fidel Castro in communism. And they both decided to establish a group” The July 26 Movement ” and they further organized a team of 18 guerrillas to take over the control of Sierra Maestre mountains of Cuba. With only few weapons but filled with huge enthusiasm and positive exuberance they raided the army garrisons and slowly built up their own weapon stock and grew up themselves stronger. This all caught the Cuban establishment in rage and they started to kill the revolutionaries. In this doubt they also murdered many innocent civilians and also executed many suspects publically. But this could not diminish the movement and the zeal and the spirits of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro and their companions rose sky high. They further got the support of the educated and intellect class of Cuba and finally this all ended with an entire Cuban revolution.

Che Guevara played an important role on various key posts after the Cuban revolution and suggested many reforms for the new government. Some of those were implemented and some of those were not. This all did not end the passions of Che Guevara for revolution. As he said ” I don’t care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.”   He also led a force of 120 Cubans in Congo but they were not trained enough and the mission ended in a failure. Che Guevara made his last adventure in Bolivia where a movement had just started and Che Guevara decided to support them with a party of Cuban guerrillas. But things did not go in Che Guevara’s favor and in accordance of his expectations because he did not get the enough support for this cause. Finally Che Guevara was arrested by the US trained Bolivian army who killed the Cuban group as well. Che Guevara , the Marxist revolutionary was ultimately executed by C.I.A on October 9, 1967.
