Goodbye, Gorgeous: Alexander Wang for H&M

Designer collaborations are a dime a dozen in our day of cheap and chic fashion, but none has been as anticipated as that of Alexander Wang and H&M. The two fashion giants collided to create a collection that is hip and completely happening, evident by the enormous number of style lovers who flocked to the stores in mass. If you’re still holding out with hope that you’ll snag a piece or two before it’s all gone, well, don’t count on it. Many of the pieces sold out in minutes, with some already up for grabs on ebay. Unsurprisingly, the collection’s release caused the H&M website to crash, a further testament to the die-hard need for sexy garments boasting not-so-frightening price tags.

Scuba crop tops may seem far from versatile, more like something that belongs on a beach rather than Brooklyn, but somehow, these were charming and filled with sporty chic potential. If you’ve managed to scoop one up (lucky!), pair one with anything from high-waisted pencil skirts to cropped leather trousers to rock the look like a pro. We are slightly heartbroken to have missed out on a few of the covetable pieces, one of which is the sexy but sophisticated cut-out dress. What’s fashion without a little triumph? We’re determined to dry our tears and find similar options for less. The perfect alternative to the LGD (Little Glittery Dress) come holiday season, these sexy silhouettes are bound to turn heads in the most effortless of ways. Pair them with anything from a sleek ankle-strap sandal or even an edgy pair of peep-toe booties to create a cool, downtown girl look using these statement pieces.

Also on our “too bad, so sad” Alexander Wang list? A chic bandage crop top that, while simple, was anything but basic. We’ll be pairing similar options with high-waisted pants in neutral shades like white and striking shades like cobalt. When accented with a swipe of bold lipstick, this look is definitely one for the books.
