Abigail is currently 10 years old and has been living in the sanctuary since she was a little baby. You see, Abigail was orphaned by her family when she was discovered by her rescuer. Her life would change forever from that moment.

Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns first opened the baby kangaroo rescue centre in Alice Springs back in 2005. He rescued Abigail when she was only a baby. Him and Abi have been close ever since.

Abigail has been forever grateful towards Brolga for saving her. In order to show her gratitude, Abi loves to give some pretty amazing hugs. Brolga uploaded footage of the warm embrace for everyone to see.

Brolga uploaded a small clip of the daily hugging ritual between him and Abi. “Queen Abi and I just loooove hugs,” Brolga captioned the video. The video showed off some pretty sweet moments.

In the video, you can see Abigail walk over and slowly approach Brolga. He then leans down to her level and the two of them hold each other in a warm embrace. It is truly one of the sweetest moments ever.

I rescued Abi as a tiny orphan baby about 11 years ago. Abi has always loved hugs. She is such a sweet and beautiful kangaroo,” Brolga explained. Abigail’s loving nature has made her pretty popular around the sanctuary. They even have a special nickname for her.

Abigail arrived at the sanctuary when she was only 5 months old. Since then she has made quite an impression on the place. She has even earned the nickname “Queen of the Sanctuary.”

Chris established the kangaroo sanctuary from 2009 to 2011 after creating the rescue center. The sanctuary’s website states their mission which is to “educate and encourage people to rescue and care for kangaroos.” They particularly want people to look out for injured kangaroos that appear on the side of the highway.

When Brolga first uploaded the video of the hug onto social media he didn’t think much of it. He just thought that the moment was sweet and wanted to share it with his followers. The post’s popularity exceeded his expectations greatly.
