Pete Carroll expects Marshawn Lynch to start in playoff game

“That was not an indication of anything that’s going to come”, said Carroll. “We don’t have any different expectations than that and we’re going into it with the same thought”. He has appeared in seven games this season and has not played since November 15.

With such high draft picks and a solid foundation on the offensive line, do you think this is the year to draft the future at running back and quarterback?

Seattle has an idea of what it’s getting with Lynch healthy and back in the lineup.

Carroll said earlier this week that he expects Lynch to play on Sunday against the Vikings, and nothing in Lynch’s first few days back with the team have indicated otherwise.

Since the surgery and a rehab period in Philadelphia, Lynch has been primarily working out in the Bay Area with MMA trainer Tareq Azim.

Lynch has just one 100-yard game this season, rushing for 122 yard and a touchdown against the 49ers on October 22.

According to the report, Carroll and the Seahawks will monitor Lynch, with the head coach saying that all they wanted was for the five-time Pro Bowler to do what he usually does and how he deals with the workload.

But the Seattle Seahawks running back was back Wednesday, blaring music in the locker room and chomping on a candy cane at practice.

Lynch wasn’t the only Seahawks starter returning Wednesday.

Lynch rejoined the team Monday, which means he might play in Sunday’s playoff game at Minnesota.

Before everything got underway for Week 17 of National Football League action, we updated you on the various scenarios that could happen to the Minnesota Vikings as far as where they’d be seeded in the NFC playoff field. Rookie Thomas Rawls was more than adequate filling in for Lynch until suffering a broken ankle in Week 14 at Baltimore and being lost for the season.

“I’ve had worse. I’ve had plenty of worse injuries than this one”, said Brady, who has had only one injury in his career that forced him to miss time – a season-ending knee injury in Week 1 of 2008.

“We saw some really exciting things happen in the game”, Carroll said.

It was an unexpected turnaround after Seattle slogged through the first eight weeks before going on a record run that had not been seen here in a decade. At the end of the day, we stuck together, we fought through it. Hands on knees, but when the ball was snapped we emptied out our cup. Bryce too, so we’re in good shape in that position now if he’s (Lynch) able to make it through the week.

Strong safety Kam Chancellor and offensive linemen Russell Okung and J.R. Sweenzy will also be back.

Cornerback Jeremy Lane’s status for Sunday remains unclear after Lane sustained an oblique injury this past Sunday.

“If he’s going, that’s what I would expect”.
