Body of country singer Craig Strickland recovered from lake

Craig Strickland, a country singer for band Backroad Anthem who was reported missing December 27 after heading out for a hunting trip with his friend Chase Morland, has been found dead, People reports.

U.S. country music singer Craig Strickland (centre, in black t-shirt and jeans), frontman for band Backroad Anthem, was found dead after going missing in a severe storm. Before they continued their quest, Morland posted a tweet, which became the last message from either of them.

The Strickland family has been notified of the recovery. Their capsized boat and Morland’s body were found Monday (Dec. 28), according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. “Still we want in that closure in seeing him”.

Strickland’s wife, Helen, announced via Twitter Monday that the singer’s body was found.

“We were unable to locate Craig Strickland today”, she wrote of a video posted on Sunday. He disappeared during storms last week while on a duck hunting trip with friend Chase Morland.

Strickland’s dog was found safe, his wife tweeted. That allowed them to narrow the search area.

“OHP says body of #CraigStrickland recovered as search resumed this morning”. Hoping against the odds. We have played a number of shows together.

“As much as it hurts to lose Craig, we’ve hated even more to think of Helen suffering through all of this!”
