President Vladimir Putin says that Russian Federation doesn’t see a new anti-terror coalition led by Saudi Arabia as hostile to its interests, but he called for pooling global efforts to fight against terrorism. How can we not welcome that? Putin said.
The Russian leader’s flattering words for Trump came after several endorsements from the Republican presidential candidate frontrunner. “I will get along, I think, with Putin, and I will get along with others, and we will have a much more stable world”, Trump said. “Russian Federation is not that kind of country”, Putin said, speaking of Moscow’s increased military presence in Syria.
During his news conference, Putin said he is prepared to develop relations with the USA whoever wins the presidential election.
The 63-year-old – who has ruled Russian Federation as president or prime minister for 16 years – also waded into the USA presidential race – giving a thumbs up for divisive hate figure Donald Trump. A whiny buffoon who can’t run a business without bankruptcy and responds to criticism with sexist buffoonery sounds like a flawless way for Putin to assert Russian supremacy.
Putin past year acknowledged Russian troops were in the Crimea before Moscow seized the peninsula from Ukraine, after initially denying it. He added that he “certainly welcomes” Trump’s calls for better U.S.-Russia ties.
While the majority of Democrat and Republican candidates have been laying into Russia, Trump has taken a different tone, saying he wants to work with Moscow if he is elected. “And as far as him attacking ISIS, I’m all for it”, he told CBS News’ John Dickerson.
Trump has been soaring in polls in the USA and is the front-runner in the GOP presidential primary, this despite his often inflammatory remarks that have brought repeated condemnation. People say, ‘What do you mean?’ I think I’d get along well with him. If anything, Trump’s popularity and base of support grows each time the media and his opponents lash out at him.
