Prince William is a ‘no-show’ at Queen’s annual Christmas lunch

Adorable George was the star of the family’s Christmas photos in 2014, but it is likely that this year he will star alongside his baby sister in the first photos of them together since Princess Charlotte’s christening in July.

Kate Middleton was in festive spirits as she joined the Queen at Buckingham Palace for her majesty’s annual Christmas lunch.

As usual, Prince George managed to steal the show among dozens of royals.

George was photographed in the back seat of a vehicle, en route to the event, with Fun Uncle Harry in the front.

Other guests included Prince William’s cousin Zara Tindall, her husband Mike and their daughter Mia and Peter Phillips’ wife Autumn Phillips.

It was not clear if Charlotte was in the Range Rover or in a following, auto containing the children’s Spanish nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, but royal sources confirmed that the seven-month-old Princess was at the lunch.

Today, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh boarded a train to their Sandringham estate for the Christmas period, where the immediate family will gather for Christmas Day.

Prince William did not attend the Christmas gathering as he had to attend a memorial service for the father of a close friend. “If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve, it’ll be good”.

“[There] will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it”. On Tuesday, she visited the Anna Freud Centre Family School for its Christmas Party.
