World Aids Day Hopes to Raise Awareness Locally

This includes pre-exposure prophylaxis and highly effective HIV treatment. Combined with access to health care, regular testing and other HIV prevention strategies such as condoms, PrEP provides people with a game-changing way to stop HIV.

For the whole of a year ago, heterosexual transmission accounted for 47 per cent of the cases transmitted by sexual intercourse, while homosexual transmission made up 39.9 percent.
