Despite the trademark beards and the topsy turvy hats, or whatever you call em’, these garden gnomes are anything but cute.

It is the stuff that nightmares are made of, and that’s why they are the perfect addition to your man garden.

Media Source

You don’t want cute; you NEED rugged, rough and weird stuff to guard your buried valuables. These zombie gnomes alongside a morbid army of undead miniature statues is not only the work of creativity, but it has impressed thousands of online shoppers already.

Origins of Zombie Gnomes

Media Source

Traditionally, these pesky b***ards date back to the 1800’s; a time when it was believed that gnomes are supposed to guard some kind of hidden treasure.

Media Source

Tradition also tells us that they are the symbols of good luck, and watch over crops, livestock and anything that had to do with your ancestor’s well-being.

However, RevenantFX, a Canadian business, decided to give these gnomes a jolt of sick twisted humor.

Media Source

Imagine your surprise if you wake up early in the morning and see these zombified statues are crawling up to your doorstep. You’d have a heart attack, or perhaps a moment of silence will ensue.

At the same time, these gnomes are a great gift idea for any man who wants to give his garden a little different look.

Besides, we are all way over our head with cute plush cheeked gnomes; we have seen too many of them already and it is simply time that we get something new for our upcoming garden anniversary or whatever you may have planned for that green patch in your backyard.

Media Source

Speaking of RevenantFX, they are not a very big company; just two friends working full time on graphics and handmade artistry.

Media Source

They love all things horror and these gnomes are just a small part of what these guys are offering at Etsy.

Media Source

They have a dedicated online shop with over 95 individual pieces with hand painted details and intricate sense of style.

Media Source

The company was founded by Casper and Sadie, two self-taught horror genre artists who were inspired to create things, using their expertise and imagination.

They are a group of starving artists who obsess, dribble and drool over anything which looks spooky, odd or downright weird.

Media Source

Casper and Sadie are also infatuated with many horror movies and TV series, such as Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead, 28 Days Later, Pet Sematary, Dawn of the Dead, Night of The Living Dead – so on and so forth.

Media Source

You can take one look at their work and see how much effort and creativity goes into each piece. No kidding.

There’s something in the dumpster
That goes bump in the night..
A terror to behold,
Such a gruesome sight!

From the trash cans and trees
To your front lawn
She’s hungry for brains
Now that all the garbage is gone!

Infected and undead
Waiting for her chance
To dine on your head!

According to the RevenantFX product description, each of these vermin corpses are sculpted meticulously in water/oil clay, cast in rock solid premium grade gypsum cement, and hand-painted to bring out all of their ghoulish detail (and to ensure that no two are exactly the same).

Lastly, they are each coated in a high gloss outdoor sealer to prevent any further decay and to help these carnivorous cadavers withstand the elements in their continuous hunt for human flesh.

What’s more impressive is that all of the work is done manually at RevenantFX’s home based studio.

Media Source

This is to ensure that any creepy little gnome that is sold by them is something that they’d be willing to display or buy for their own friends and families.

Media Source

The similarity of this macabre vein can be seen in some of RevenantFX other movie inspired gnomes.

Media Source

You can see from the images that they reflected their taste in the horror genre by creating a Jason, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leather Face and many other editions of these nightmares.

When Gnomes Meet Godzilla

Oh well, you can witness the garden massacre in this epic rendition of gnomes vs. Godzilla.

The 9 inch tall Godzilla figure depicts the gruesome outcome of when a pack of unsuspecting garden gnomes bump into the mutated dinosaur.

The Case of 107 Garden Gnomes Invasion

Media Source

Moving on, Dental Nurse: Marcela Telehanicova woke up petrified one fine morning when she discovered over 107 grisly gnomes lined up in her garden. The buggers were actually planted by a prankster who lined these gnomes up between the hours of 9:30 PM – 1:30 AM in the morning.

This guy was probably trying to reenact the scene reminiscent of Victor Meldrew’s discovery of 263 garden gnomes on his lawn in ‘One Foot in The Grave.’

Vinni is Just a Poor Victim!

Marcela discovered these gnomes when she was closing her curtains on June 01. She said, “I had a second look and thought what is that? Then I realized that they were little people. I was in Hysterics. It’s the best, most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me.”

Media Source

The interesting thing is that no one claimed the responsibility for this incident. Marcela knows that whoever did this knows her, and is probably in her social circle, but she does not have a name yet.

Police, on the other hand, said that she can keep the “little people” if they are not claimed within 28 days.
